Our Mission
Short-term help, paid straight to the people owed.
When a good person hits a wall they can’t get over on their own, we help them over it. Quietly, and in a way you can account for down to the dollar.
Seven kinds of help.
Every situation is different, but the help usually falls into one of seven categories. In every one of them, we pay the provider, not the applicant.
Housing
Rent or mortgage help to keep a family in their home, paid to the landlord or mortgage servicer.
Utilities
Past-due electric, gas, or water, paid straight to the utility company before a shut-off.
Medical
A medical bill, prescription, or needed care, paid to the provider or pharmacy.
Transportation
A car repair, insurance, or fare that stands between someone and their job, paid to the shop or provider.
Food
Groceries and food needs, arranged directly with a grocer or food provider.
Funeral & burial
The cost of laying a loved one to rest, paid to the funeral home or cemetery.
Emergency
A sudden, practical emergency that knocks a steady household off balance, paid to the vendor involved.
We pay providers directly.
We do not give cash to applicants. Ever. When we approve help, the money goes straight to whoever is owed: the landlord, the utility company, the hospital, the funeral home, or the shop. That way there’s no question about where it went or what it did.
A clear limit on each grant.
So we can help as many families as possible, help is capped at $2,500 per household in any twelve-month period. It’s meant to get folks through a rough patch, not to be a steady paycheck.
